The holidays are here and it is a good time to reflect upon the past year and plan your goals for the new year.  Was it a good year for you?  What can you pluck out of these last 12 months that you learned about yourself?  Maybe you didn’t PR (get a personal record) or hit a “magic total running distance” barrier, but, if you were out there, giving it your best while most people stayed in bed, then you have succeeded in my view.  Running isn’t only about the records or the times or the medals.  It is in many ways only about self-fulfillment – a good run may become great when you have a serious conversation with a friend, for instance.  So please set several goals for 2015.  But before you do that, take a look at what you accomplished – it is probably more than you think.  Have a safe and healthy holiday season!
